Transformers
without the long wait

The transformer should not become the bottleneck

The demand for transformers is increasing rapidly as electricity grids expand and businesses electrify their operations.

Battery storage, EV charging, renewable energy projects and new industrial installations all require suitable electrical infrastructure.

At the same time, transformer production capacity is under pressure. Large, customer-specific transformers and associated switchgear can have lead times of up to two years.

Power Storage Solutions provides a broad range of transformers and complete transformer substations, with many configurations available within approximately three to six months.

This can help prevent transformer availability from becoming the critical path in your energy project.

Transformatoren voor iedere energievraag

Together with our tier 1 supplier, we offers a complete range of:

  • Medium-voltage transformers

  • Distribution transformers

  • Oil-filled transformers

  • Dry-type cast-resin transformers

  • Step-up transformers

  • Step-down transformers

  • Compact transformer substations

  • Transformer housings

  • Switchgear and complete substations

Available power ratings range from 100 kVA to 5,000 kVA, with voltage levels up to 36 kV. Custom-engineered solutions, transformer enclosures, switchgear, and complete substations are also available.

This broad product range enables us to provide the right solution for almost any application — from EV charging hubs, fast-charging stations, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and industrial installations to logistics centres, retail locations, and renewable energy projects. Customers benefit from direct communication channels and technical advice from the design phase onward, tailored solutions where required.

Shorter lead times

A transformer can determine the delivery date of an entire energy project. We have therefore developed close relationships with specialist manufacturers and suppliers to offer transformer configurations with significantly shorter lead times than are currently common in the market. For many standard and project-specific transformers, delivery within approximately three to six months is possible.

Q&A

Send Power Storage Solutions your technical specification, single-line diagram, or existing enquiry. We will quickly assess which solution can be delivered within approximately six months.

Ask your question

For many standard and project-specific transformers, yes. The final lead time depends on capacity, design, accessories, testing requirements, and timely approval of drawings. The schedule is confirmed in the quotation.

Yes, when the transformer is on the critical path. Delivery is separate from available grid capacity, so grid applications, permits, civil works, and installation should be planned in parallel.

We supply oil-filled and dry-type cast-resin transformers, among others, for medium-to-low-voltage applications, industrial use, step-up and step-down configurations, and solutions for renewable energy, energy storage, and charging infrastructure.

Both. Standard configurations are often faster and more cost-efficient. Where possible, we deliver custom solutions based on a standardized platform to reduce lead time and engineering risk.

Yes, provided they are designed in accordance with applicable European standards and the requirements of the local grid operator. Please provide these requirements at an early stage so they can be incorporated into the design before production.

Depending on the project, applicable standards may include IEC 60076, IEC 60076-11, European Ecodesign requirements, and relevant EN, DIN, VDE, and grid operator specifications. The final list of standards is included in the quotation.

Oil-filled transformers offer efficient cooling and a wide power range. Dry-type transformers are often suitable for indoor locations and applications with higher fire-safety requirements. We compare costs, losses, noise levels, space requirements, and maintenance.

We assess the load profile, simultaneity factor, inrush currents, harmonics, future growth, and desired redundancy. This helps prevent both undersizing and unnecessary investment and energy losses.

Ideally, we require the power rating, primary and secondary voltage, frequency, vector group, short-circuit voltage, transformer type and installation arrangement, connections, dimensions, losses, accessories, applicable standards, delivery location, and requested delivery date.

Each transformer undergoes the agreed factory tests, such as measurements of ratio, resistance, insulation, losses, and short-circuit voltage. A Factory Acceptance Test can be attended either on site or remotely.

Yes. After order confirmation, you will receive the agreed dimensional, connection, and technical drawings. Production release follows approval; prompt responses help safeguard the delivery schedule.

The scope of supply can include transport, unloading, positioning, assembly, oil treatment, connection, inspections, and commissioning. We assess access, lifting requirements, dimensions, and site conditions in advance.

Consider energy losses, service life, maintenance, warranty, scope of testing, delivery reliability, installation costs, and service. The lowest purchase price is not always the lowest total cost.

Technical performance, planning, testing, delivery conditions, and warranty are documented in writing. In the event of deviations, we communicate directly about the impact and solution; after delivery, the agreed support and service arrangements remain in place.
